Many readers will be familiar with the activities of Cheryl Tipp, the curator of natural sounds at the British Library in London. Cheryl is currently running a series of interviews with field recordists on the British Library’s “Sound and Vision” site. Interviewees have included Ian Todd and Simon Elliott from the Wildlife Sound Recording Society.
Cheryl Tipp recently asked me to participate in this series of interviews. My response to her 6 questions about sound and field recording can be viewed by following the link to the British
Library’s Sound and Vision site.
The Sound and Vision site regularly posts interesting work by its team of writers. These include selected field recordings from around the world, book reviews, linguistic analyses of dialects, and promotions for sound-based events held by the British Library.
