Jay-Dea Lopez:  Sound Artist

Artist Statement: I am a sound artist and field recordist local to the Northern Rivers region of NSW, Australia. My work reflects the social and environmental anxieties of the early 21st century. Initially trained in classical performance and composition I now use field recordings as a way to question our natural and social environments. My field recordings and compositions have been used in film, radio, theatre, festivals and gallery installations overseas and in Australia. Various works have been archived by the British Library and the Australian National Film and Sound Archive.
